(click photo to enlarge) A sampling of cushion covers and pillowcases I’ve made. I use pieces of upcycled natural fabrics such as linen, cotton, silk, and cashmere to piece my designs together on a plain upcycled square of fabric. Then I dig into more scraps, yarn, and glass beads; and tackle the designed square with needle and thread to embroider and attach embellishments. The more sparkle and glitter, the better. I also use geometric designs. I’ve also knit and crocheted cushion covers; my favourite being the colourful puffy flower one. I also create pillowcases from pieces of vintage cotton sheets, using flat-felled and French seams. I embellish each one with a row of embroidery. Each is unique, original, one-of-a-kind!
